DarkLink exists because finding reliable information about the deep web without getting scammed is harder than it should be. I started this project in 2023 after watching too many people fall for fake marketplaces, misleading “hidden wiki” mirrors, and guides that read like they were written by someone who never opened Tor. The site focuses on practical questions — how to verify a .onion link, what to do when a directory goes offline, how to recognize phishing pages that imitate known services.

What You Can Actually Do Here

The core of DarkLink is a curated collection of deep web directories, marketplaces, forums, and utilities. I don’t list everything. I list things I’ve checked, compared against multiple sources, and can describe without guessing.

You can use DarkLink to:

  • Find current versions of hidden wiki mirrors and understand why most of them are out of date.

  • Check whether a marketplace has changed its URL, exit-scammed, or is still operating.

  • Learn how to separate real onion services from clones that steal credentials.

  • Get step-by-step instructions for setting up Tor, configuring security levels, and using PGP for verification.

  • Read about deep web culture, scams, and operational security without the usual fear-mongering.

Who Writes This

I’m Jason Blackwood, and I’ve been researching the deep web since long before this site launched. I live in Seattle, and I spend most of my time testing onion services, tracking link rot, and documenting how hidden services change over time. I don’t have a security clearance, I’m not a former intelligence officer, and I don’t run a darknet market. I’m a researcher who treats the deep web as a technical and social environment worth understanding.

My approach is simple: I verify before I publish. If I can’t confirm a link works or a service behaves as described, I say so. I’d rather leave a gap than fill it with speculation.

How Materials Are Prepared

Every piece of content starts with a question I couldn’t answer quickly myself. That usually means opening Tor, checking multiple directories, comparing what they list, and looking for signs of tampering. I cross-reference with public sources like the Tor Project documentation, security advisories, and archived versions of onion sites. When a service changes its URL or goes offline, I update the relevant pages within a week if possible.

I don’t use automated scrapers for link verification. Each check is manual, because automation misses the subtle signs of a phishing mirror or a honeypot.

What I Don’t Do

DarkLink doesn’t host illegal content, and I don’t link to services whose primary purpose is clearly criminal. I don’t sell access to directories, I don’t run “premium” onion lists, and I don’t accept payment for listing a service. If a marketplace pays for placement, it gets removed. I also don’t publish tutorials for buying illegal goods, evading law enforcement, or harming other people.

Contact

Questions, corrections, and dead link reports are welcome. Write to jason.blackwood@loranedir.com. I read everything, but I don’t respond to requests for illegal marketplaces, vendor contacts, or “best site to buy X” questions.
